Golden Feathers holds exclusive Patent and IP Protection for the innovative processing and production of Feather wool pulp and yarn. Merging the ancient 2500-year-old art of weaving with modern commitments to sustainability and design, it redefines the traditional Indian surface, making it relevant for today’s world.
In the 16th century there were traditional practices of Indian Craft, but unfortunately with the advancement of the technology the practices faded away. Golden Feathers revived 3 Indian craft through the invention of the 6th natural fiber innovation.
Collection of waste
We train ragpickers to collect chicken feathers from local butchers.
Sanitization
To ensure hygiene and quality, we employ 27 natural sanitization processes to sanitize the waste.
Segregation & Hand Carding
The feathers are then segregated. In the skilled hands of Tribal Women Artisans, our meticulously chosen feathers are transformed into pulp and yarn. These artisans expertly segregate the feathers based on their properties, meticulously removing any dirt and the stem, ensuring only the finest quality material is used for our products.
Wet Hand Spinning & Cone Binding
The Tribal Women Artisans skilfully harness centuries of Indian tradition, utilizing the charkha, a spinning wheel, to craft exquisite yarn from feather wool.
Weaving
Adhering to traditional craftsmanship, weavers dedicate themselves to the loom, meticulously hand-knotting patterns line by line, a process that spans from months to a year, underscored by a profound attention to detail.
